And the blurb:
After Lord Dersingham spurned her last season, Iris Colburn
promises to never allow him back into her heart, despite his excuses, his
long-standing connection to her family, or the fact that she once loved him.
But upon her return from Paris, Iris finds it is more difficult
than she expected to keep Lord Dersingham at arm's length. His presence at
nearly every social function Iris attends reminds her more of their blissful
past than the sting of his rejection. Worse, she fears she is falling for him
again.
If it wasn't for his outrageous behavior, that is. He asks Iris'
father for permission to court her -- again -- but then showers attention on
the disreputable Miss Halliday.
Iris doesn't know what kind of game Lord
Dersingham is playing, but with her heart and her pride on the line, she will
do anything to win.
I'm in the mood to throw confetti and give away things. Like, well, obviously, copies of A CONTEMPTIBLE AFFECTION (both ebook and paperback) and, in honor of me attempting to write regency, I'm also going to give away something from a true master.
Like how about a copy of Sarah M. Eden's latest, AN UNLIKELY MATCH? (Yeah, sounds good, doesn't it.) What if it was signed?? What do you think now?
Now, stay with me here. I don't get to go to signings for a lot of my favorite authors/friends. (Yes, I'm calling Sarah my friend. Just try and stop me. This is my blog.) I live in Northern Wyoming. Not a lot of them stopping by. Well, Krista Jensen did do a signing in Cody once, but I couldn't make it, which made me mad.
So this is me, posing with Sarah M. Eden:
Ummm, what do you mean you're not buying it? What gave me away? The mismatched skin tone? Hair color? The height? (Yeah, I'm only five-four.)
Okay, so obviously, this signing was in Utah, and people, I am nine months pregnant. I couldn't go. So I sent minions in the form of my FABULOUS sister:
I am going to love her forever. Because she sent me this:
And it was SIGNED!!
It says: "To Ranee`, who obviously has excellent taste in books. Sara M. Eden P.S. You have lovely minions. |
Yes. You have the chance to win a signed copy of Sarah M. Eden's AN UNLIKELY MATCH.
Feel free to swoon. I would.
So enter. And if you don't win, go buy my novella, A CONTEMPTIBLE AFFECTION on October 22. It will be available on Amazon and Smashwords -- and I will, of course, provide links when I can. :D
Oh, and buy Sarah's book too. ;)
Wahoo! First comment. :) Love your photo shopping skilz btw...
ReplyDeleteNo wonder I have such an amazing cover, right? :D hehehehe
DeleteYours, of course!! Great giveaway! Looks really good. Best wishes.
ReplyDeleteLIKE! :D
DeleteI really am partial to Sarah M. Eden's "Friends and Foes" cover. :) I like the perspective and the composition. :)
ReplyDeleteSo fun. I enjoyed your story, so it's great to see it available to everyone now. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the baby, Ranee! Are you going to give your little one a regency name? Wouldn't that be cool? No? Considering you're a writer, you will never be at a loss for names. lol
ReplyDeleteSince I don't have this book of Sarah's (I have all her others) I'd like to enter and try to win a signed copy before I buy one.
Can you believe that we have NOT locked in a name for this kid? Really, it's my husband's fault. He won't give the final word and keeps insisting that we name him Trapper. (NOT HAPPENING. NOT.)
DeleteCongrats on your new novella! It looks great! Wishing you all the best! That is so exciting and I love how you sent your minions to do what you could not! Love that! I don't have a favorite Regency. Do you? Thank you for the giveaway! I would be thrilled to win a copy of your book and a signed copy of Sarah's book that is like GOLD!
ReplyDeleteCurrently my favorite is Sarah's FRIENDS AND FOES, but that's because I have a bit of a crush on Phillip. And Georgette Heyer's THE GRAND SOPHY. I don't actually consider Jane Austen's stuff to be in this same category, even though it is, lol. But if I did, I'd have to put Northanger Abbey at the top of the list. (Shocking, I know, but it really is my favorite of hers!)
DeleteUm not sure what my favorite would be. Excited about the giveawayf!

ReplyDeleteUmm....no idea. But I have several on my to-read list that look amazing :)
ReplyDeleteFavorite Regency would have to be Frederica. Beautiful cover. And for heaven's sake... what's wrong with Trapper? ;)
ReplyDeleteI love regency romance novels! I think my fave is The Stranger She Married by Donna Hatch. Thank you for the awesome giveaway! Your novella sounds fabulous! If you are ever looking for reviewers, check out my blog :)

DeleteLet's see. My favorite Regency . . . it would probably be easier to pick a favorite child. (Just kidding.) I love all of Sarah's books. I also love Venetia by Georgette Heyer and Edenbrooke that came out this year. So, yeah. I guess I really can't pick.
ReplyDelete(But *you* can. Pick me! Pick me!)
Congratulations, by the way--on both the book and the baby. :)
Wendy Jones
Love Edenbrooke, and of course, all of Sarah M Eden's books. I can't wait to read her newest and yours!
ReplyDeleteIs it cheating to name four? Pride and Prejudice, Seeking Persephone, Edenbrooke, and Quiet Meg. :)
ReplyDeleteTotally forgot The Grand Sophie!
DeleteI love both your stuff and Sarah M. Eden's. I'm pretty sure I read some of your A Compatible Affection as well and it rocked. I can't wait to read the rest!
