More than anything I want this blog to be a place readers and writers find useful. Recently I sent the call out for guest posts. Because of a wonderful response (thank you!) I've decided to post this page so you can find out exactly how to go about guest posting on my blog.
This is what I'm looking for:
1. Critiques -- One of the things I love about getting the opportunity to critique is how much I learn. The best thing about getting critiques of my own work is how much I learn from others! So I want to put that to good use. If you're brave enough to send me an excerpt of your WIP, I'll critique it and post it on the blog for others to look over, add their thoughts, and learn from it. Excerpts should be approximately 1,000 words.
2. Guest Shorts -- Showcase your work and entertain my readers. Self-explanatory! Short Stories should be approximately 1,000 words.
3. Guest Posts -- What are you an expert at? What are you not an expert at? Share your knowledge or lack thereof with us; ramble at our expense. Posts should be approximately 500 words, though longer ones will certainly be considered.
4. Let Your Book Shine -- a.k.a. free promotion. Submit an excerpt of your book with personal commentary (either at the beginning, at the end, or throughout--just make sure we know what's what!) to post on the blog. Excerpts should be approximately 1,000 words; additional commentary no more than 300 words.
Or do you have another idea?

About Me!
I've been writing since I was old enough to grasp a crayon--my grandma even has an early copy of a "book" I made her. I have a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Wyoming and will (hopefully) soon be starting a graduate program in English. When I'm not breaking up impromptu UFC fights in the living room or losing miserably to my boys at Uno, I'm ... well, writing or editing, of course! I'm married to my best friend, and we have three rambunctious but simply amazing little boys.
Ranee,
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that sometime this year I will be able to participate in your blog and promote a book--or two or three for that matter. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
