Review: A TIMELESS ROMANCE ANTHOLOGY WINTER COLLECTION

Remember how I've mentioned a few times that I *know* Sarah M. Eden? And how she gave me the inside scoop on publication dates a while back? This was one of the "scoops" she gave me: the inclusion of her short story "The Road to Cavan Town" in A TIMELESS ROMANCE ANTHOLOGY: WINTER COLLECTION. So, you know, one day when I was on a book buying spree, I downloaded it. Of course.

From Timeless Romance blog: Six Award-Winning Authors have contributed brand new stories to A Timeless Romance Anthology: Winter Collection. A collection unlike any other, readers will love this compilation of six sweet historical romance novellas, set in varying eras, yet all with one thing in common: Romance.

Audience: Adult
Genre: Short story collections, Historical Romance
Length: 251 pages

Rating: **** (Really liked it)

The Pros: I love historical romances and I loved that I could sit down and spend thirty minutes to an hour and complete one. I loved that I got a mix of different styles and different eras all in one book. I'm familiar and really like the work of some of the authors (Sarah and Heidi Ashworth), so it was great to read more from them! I *know* some of the other authors via Twitter and Facebook (everyone else), but had never read anything by them, so it was great to get introduced to their work. I'm definitely going to play some favorites. Of course Sarah's "The Road to Cavan Town" was one, as well as Annette's "An Unexpected Proposal" and Donna's "A Winter's Knight." I have to mention that what really grabbed me about "A Winter's Knight" was the mix of regency and otherworldly stuff. (Which of course reminded me of Sarah's latest novel, AN UNLIKELY MATCH.)

The Cons: Well, that they were all too short? Ha! Some of the endings were a little too neat and simple, but I suppose more complexity would have meant longer and not in this collection. :D

Disclaimer: Nothing.

** And if you liked A TIMELESS ROMANCE ANTHOLOGY, you would probably love my novella, A CONTEMPTIBLE AFFECTION, so you should go buy it. :)

About Me!

I've been writing since I was old enough to grasp a crayon--my grandma even has an early copy of a "book" I made her. I have a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Wyoming and will (hopefully) soon be starting a graduate program in English. When I'm not breaking up impromptu UFC fights in the living room or losing miserably to my boys at Uno, I'm ... well, writing or editing, of course! I'm married to my best friend, and we have three rambunctious but simply amazing little boys.
